Tanqueray No. Ten — The Citrus-Led Evolution of a London Icon
London Dry 47.3% ABV ABV Charles Tanqueray & Co / DiageoClassic for Good Reason
There's a reason No. Ten is a bartender favourite. The fresh grapefruit peel, juniper, coriander, angelica, and liquorice create a harmonious and versatile gin. 47.3% is the perfect strength.
The Premium Standard Bearer
The fresh grapefruit peel dominates the nose beautifully, giving way to silky citrus on the palate. At 47.3% ABV it has the weight to match the complexity. Chamomile bitterness on the finish is a lovely touch.
Step Up from the Original
The fresh citrus approach really works here. You get vivid grapefruit on the nose, silky texture on the palate, and gentle chamomile bitterness on the finish. A proper premium London Dry.
Simply Flawless
Tanqueray No. Ten is a masterwork. The fresh grapefruit, chamomile, juniper, coriander, angelica, and liquorice are woven together with extraordinary skill. At 47.3% ABV it's immaculate in every serve. Perfection.
Good but Overpriced
It's undeniably a quality gin — the grapefruit is lovely and the 47.3% ABV gives it body — but I'm not convinced the premium over the standard Tanqueray is fully justified. The chamomile finish is nice but subtle.
My Desert Island Gin
If I could only have one gin forever, this would be it. The fresh grapefruit lifts everything, the liquorice adds depth, and that 47.3% ABV gives it proper presence. Perfect in a martini.
Exceptional Citrus Forward Gin
Tanqueray No. Ten justifies the premium over the original with its fresh grapefruit character and elegant chamomile finish. The juniper, coriander, and angelica provide a classic backbone at 47.3%.
