Winter Warmer

When the nights draw in, Sipsmith Sloe is my go-to. The rich sloe berry compote with jammy sweetness is comforting, the dry herbal notes add complexity, and at 29% it's gentle enough for fireside sipping.

Rich Sloe Berry Compote

Sipsmith's sloe berry compote character is gorgeous — jammy sweetness with underlying juniper, citrus peel hints, and dry herbal complexity. The sweet fruity entry at 29% ABV with concentrated berry and tart tannin counterpoint is superb.

Juniper Peeks Through

What elevates Sipsmith above other sloe gins is how the juniper and coriander from the base gin peek through the berry fruit. At 29% ABV there's proper spirit character beneath the sweetness. The lemon peel adds a welcome brightness.

Tannin Balance

The tart tannin counterpoint to the sloe sweetness is expertly judged. At 29% ABV the mid-palate juniper and citrus peel provide genuine gin structure. The dry tannic conclusion keeps it from being merely sweet.

Sweetness Tips the Balance

The concentrated sloe berry at 29% ABV is rich and jammy but the sweetness dominates. The juniper and citrus peel try to provide structure but the overall impression is more liqueur than gin. Well made but too sweet.

Almond Sophistication

The almond bitterness on the finish — from the sloe stones — adds real sophistication. At 29% ABV the concentrated sloe berry is rich and jammy, with quiet juniper reminding you this is gin. Beautiful winter drinking.

Sloe Gin Perfection

Sipsmith have set the standard for premium sloe gin. Rich berry compote, tart tannin balance, mid-palate juniper structure, almond-stone sophistication, and a quiet juniper reminder on the finish. At 29% ABV it's spiritous and complex. The definitive sloe gin.
