Hayman's Gently Rested Gin
London Dry 41.3% ABVGently Does It
Hayman's Gently Rested at 41.3% is a lovely concept — brief cask ageing adds a golden hue and subtle warmth without overwhelming the London Dry character. Oak and vanilla whisper rather than shout. Charming gin.
Barely Noticeable Ageing
The resting at 41.3% is so gentle that the oak influence is almost imperceptible. While the London Dry quality is fine, I struggled to identify what the cask rest actually adds beyond a slight golden tinge. Neither fully fresh nor properly aged.
Wonderful Versatility
Hayman's Gently Rested at 41.3% works in every context — neat, in a G&T, in cocktails. The light oak influence gives it additional depth without limiting its versatility. A gin that adapts to any occasion. Superbly crafted.
Hayman's Masterstroke
Gently Rested at 41.3% is Hayman's most inspired creation. The brief cask ageing adds warmth, vanilla, and golden colour while preserving every nuance of their classic London Dry recipe. It is the perfect middle ground between fresh gin and barrel-aged spirits. Absolute genius from one of gin's great families.
Subtle Oak Kiss
The gentle resting adds just a kiss of oak to the Hayman's London Dry profile at 41.3%. It is not a barrel-aged gin in the usual sense — more of an enhanced London Dry with added warmth and complexity. Very clever.
Bridge Between Gin and Whisky
Hayman's Gently Rested at 41.3% occupies a lovely space between fresh gin and barrel-aged spirits. The light oak influence adds depth without compromising the London Dry character. A gin that whisky drinkers will appreciate.
Perfectly Balanced Ageing
Hayman's have nailed the balance with Gently Rested. At 41.3% ABV the London Dry botanicals are still front and centre, with just a touch of oak warmth and vanilla sweetness from the brief cask rest. Elegant and sophisticated.
