Gin Xoriguer / Mahon
Barrel-Aged 38% ABVNot What I Expected
At 38% ABV this barrel-aged gin is quite mild, and the wine-base spirit gives it an unusual flavour that took some getting used to. Interesting from a historical perspective, but it does not suit my usual gin preferences.
Authentic Gin Heritage
Xoriguer has been making gin in Mahon since the 18th century and you can taste that heritage. The barrel-aged spirit has a distinctive character — herbal, slightly sweet, with a lovely warmth. A protected geographical product for good reason.
Mediterranean Classic
Gin Xoriguer from Mahon is unlike any other gin I have tried. The barrel-aged character gives it a wonderful warmth, and at 38% it is incredibly easy to drink. A true taste of Menorca.
Unique Menorcan Treasure
This barrel-aged gin from Mahon is genuinely one of a kind. Distilled from wine rather than grain, it has an earthy, slightly rustic quality that is completely captivating. The 38% makes it dangerously drinkable.
Absolutely Love This Gin
Gin Xoriguer is a revelation. The barrel-aged, wine-base spirit creates something utterly unique in the gin world. It is smooth, complex, herbal, and wonderfully Mediterranean at 38%. I bring bottles back from Menorca every time I visit.
Charming Balearic Spirit
A lovely barrel-aged gin with real character. The Mahon heritage shines through in every sip — this is not trying to be a modern craft gin, it is proudly traditional and all the better for it.
Holiday Memories in a Bottle
Every time I pour Xoriguer I am transported back to Menorca. The barrel ageing adds a gentle golden hue and soft woody notes. At 38% it is perfect for warm evenings with just ice and a squeeze of lemon.
