Gilbey's in its heyday

This 1970s Gilbey's at 40% represents a time when the brand was taken more seriously. The London Dry character has mellowed but retains a gentle quality. The botanicals have softened into something charming.

Vintage Gilbey's is magic

This 1970s Gilbey's at 40% is pure magic. Decades of bottle ageing have transformed this London Dry into something ethereal — the botanicals have melded into seamless harmony, the juniper has softened to a whisper of its former self. A beautiful, dignified piece of London gin heritage. Absolutely magnificent.

Quiet vintage elegance

This 1970s Gilbey's at 40% has a quiet elegance that modern gins can't replicate. The London Dry profile has softened beautifully over the decades. A gentle gin from a great British brand.

Past its best now

Gilbey's from the 1970s at 40% is a piece of gin history, but the botanicals have faded substantially. The juniper is barely there and the overall profile is very gentle. At 40% ABV the lower strength hasn't helped with preservation. More of a curiosity than a drinking experience.

A forgotten classic

Gilbey's was once one of London's great gin names and this 1970s bottling at 40% shows why. Even after decades, the London Dry quality shines through. The mellowed botanicals create an elegant, smooth spirit.

London's forgotten gin

Gilbey's deserves remembering, and this 1970s bottling at 40% makes the case beautifully. The London Dry character is mellow but dignified, the botanicals have aged gracefully. A gin from London's golden era.
