Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin: Berry-Forward and Crowd-Pleasing
Contemporary 40% ABV ABV Brockmans GinChanged my mind about gin
I never thought I'd be a gin person until Brockmans. The berry richness, marzipan softness, and incredibly smooth delivery make this an absolute joy. The blackberry depth with that gentle coriander finish — perfect. This is my go-to recommendation for anyone curious about gin.
Perfect gateway gin
Introduced a few non-gin-drinkers to this and they all loved it. The berry richness with almond nuttiness makes it incredibly approachable. The soft juniper means it doesn't scare anyone off.
Great with tonic
The blueberry and blackberry notes really sing with a good tonic. The soft juniper keeps it recognisably gin while the berry fruit makes it something special. Medium finish with that lovely almond fade.
Silky and fruity
Beautifully smooth mouthfeel at 40%. The blueberry jam nose immediately draws you in, and the palate delivers on that promise. Cassia warmth and coriander spice add just enough complexity.
Smooth but lacking depth
True to its name, it's very smooth. The blueberry and blackberry jam notes are pleasant, and the cassia warmth is nice, but at 40% I find it a bit one-dimensional. The almond marzipan on the nose is interesting, though it doesn't quite develop enough on the palate.
Berry lover's dream gin
If you enjoy fruit-forward gins, this is brilliant. The blueberry sweetness with blackberry depth creates something genuinely different. The cassia bark adds just enough warmth, and the coriander gives it a subtle spice backbone.
Surprisingly sophisticated
Don't let the berry sweetness fool you — there's real complexity here. The cassia bark and angelica ground it beautifully, and the almond fade on the finish is elegant. A Contemporary gin that rewards attention.
