If you make classic gin cocktails at home, you need an Old Tom. Ableforth's at 42.4% is the best readily available option — sweet, spiced, and bursting with infused botanicals. The Martinez it makes is extraordinary.

Old Tom is meant to be sweeter than London Dry and Ableforth's delivers on that at 42.4%. But I find the sweetness a touch much for sipping. Works well in cocktails where you need that sugar element.
